WASTED: World Premiere

July 3 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Monday and Friday, repeating until July 6, 2020

Something is happening in Chicago! Garbage cans stolen from Black neighborhoods, lead in the soil in Little Village, one of the highest rates of youth incarceration in the country. But why?

In Free Street Theater’s , youth ages 13-19 ask: “What & Who does society make disposable?” After the successful run of PARCHED, WASTED continues the Free Street youth ensemble’s exploration of the environmental issues that shape youth experience in Chicago, particularly on the South and West side.

Wasted will premiere June 26 online. We’ve worked hard to create a true Free Street experience online, working with a videographer, training youth in filmmaking technique, and leveraging the power of TikTok!  We may be apart, but we can still be together!

Join us online Friday June 26, Monday June 28th, Friday July 3rd, and Monday July 6th at 7:00pm. Tickets and links to the performance are available via our Eventbrite page.
