Sneak Peek of the Future: An Open Rehearsal
June 28 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
This summer, Free Street Theater is premiering a brand new play, “There is a Future/Tenemos un Futuro,” as part of Night Out in the Parks. Directed by Coya Paz and Elizabeth Nungaray, this interactive, puppet play will let you know what to do if/when you’ve been poisoned!
On Wednesday June 28th, at 6pm, we are opening our rehearsal doors to the community, so you can get a sneak peek of the show, and what we’ve got in store. From learning more about the puppets, to seeing some of the scenes themselves, participants will learn more about “There is a Future/Tenemos un Futuro,” while also participating in a short workshop.
About Free Street: Free Street is a femme-led arts and culture organization that centers original performance work by Black, Brown, and Immigrant communities; queer artists; youth artists; and work that is committed to the thriving and well-being of people on the South and West Sides of the city. We believe in the theater as a space to uplift joy and justice, especially racial, economic, and environmental justice in Chicago.
This event is free and open to the public!
