In 2019, Free Street started work on a Cultural Asset Mapping Project to document performing arts and culture in Back of the Yards, Brighton Park, Englewood, Gage Park, and McKinley Park. The project was commissioned by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and the League of Chicago Theaters.
The live gallery show celebrates artists and culture makers in our communities, and invites anyone to join in adding to the map.
This project is ongoing, but all of the information we gathered through surveys, workshops, and interviews can be found here: fstculturemakersmap.com.
