The idea of a performed newspaper dates back to the 1930’s, when The Federal Theatre Project produced “The Living Newspaper”. Our impulse to dramatize current events is as powerful today as it was then. On Friday, June 21, a group of performers will step onto the Free Street stage to perform a show inspired by whatever happens to be in the newspaper the morning of the performance. The resulting show is hyper-current, local, and inspired by real events. It’s also pretty darn fun!

So crack open the newspaper Friday morning, and join us in the evening to explore how the present moment impacts our community.

Cash only at the door.
Free Street works for change but doesn’t give change.
You choose what to pay: $5 $10 $20
