The Park is The Place.
This summer, we continue Free Street’s 45 year tradition of taking theater out of theaters and into other public spaces with The Park is The Place, a project where we create performances reenacting people’s stories about things that happened in parks, performed in the parks where these things actually happened. Every week, our company of 25 young people age 13-22 will visit a different Chicago neighborhood, facilitating workshops and conducting community conversations/interviews. One week later we’ll come back: with a BRAND NEW PLAY based on these stories.
