a touring street performance about reflection, identity and choice.
Created by the summer ensemble.
Co-Directed by Sam Poretta & Ashley Winston.
ASHLEY WINSTON is an actor & arts educator currently directing Free Street’s ensemble.
Ashley has worked with hundreds of students & educators across the country, teaching in- & after-school residencies creating performances & facilitating professional development workshops for the Chicago Public Schools. Over the last few years she has worked with diverse communities including ESL students, children with autism, homeless women & incarcerated youths.
SAM PORRETTA is a Chicago-based director, designer & performer currently serving as Collaboraction’s Creative Director.
There he has directed and/or designed environments for Jon, Sketchbook 2004-2011, Guinea Pig Solo, Carnaval 2005-2006, Beggar’s Banquet 2004-2006, Suffering City, Krisis, & Prom. As a performer, he has worked with notable Chicago companies such as Redmoon, The Hypocrites, Strawdog & Trap Door. He has also studied & practiced design methodologies at the alternative design school Archeworks.
